Serves 2

Ingredients

¾ cup Maya Kaimal Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce

1 cup sour cream, labneh or Greek yogurt

8 oz block of paneer, sliced horizontally into two slabs

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 cup panko or breadcrumbs

Vegetable oil for frying

2 brioche buns

Ghee or butter for toasting

Lettuce leaves, sliced tomato and red onion

Preparation

Step 1
Make your sauce by combining ¾ cup Maya Kaimal Tikka Masala sauce with 1 cup sour cream, labneh or Greek yogurt.

Step 2
Dust the paneer slabs with cornstarch.

Step 3
Place the sauce a wide bowl, and the panko in a second wide bowl. Dredge the dusted paneer slabs one at a time in the yogurt, then in panko until well coated. Set aside. Reserve the extra sauce to spread on the burgers.

Step 4
Heat ½ inch of vegetable oil in a cast iron or stainless steel skillet until hot. Add the breaded paneer and fry about a minute on each side, or until golden. Remove to paper towels.

Step 5
Toast or griddle-cook the brioche bun. Layer on the sauce, paneer patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, and more sauce. Enjoy!
